Le Sauvage Private Island
About an hour’s boat ride from the Hotel Kia Ora is the small island Avearahi and Le Sauvage Private Island formerly Kia Ora Sauvage, where small and simple are the cardinal rules. The island has no electricity or phones, so your complete escape from civilization is guaranteed.
Each of the 5 thatch-roofed bungalows has been hand-crafted from native wood, bamboo and palm. A sandy beach, hammock, lounge chairs and a large deck give you plenty of options to view the beautiful lagoon.
The resort offers simple, healthy meals emphasizing fresh seafood; a cocktail bar; and island activities, such as fishing, shelling and reef exploration. A canoe, snorkeling and fishing equipment are also available. A minimum stay of two nights is required. Due to flight schedules, we recommend you allow at least one night at Hotel Kia Ora before and after your visit.
