Vomo sits northwest of Nadi at the end of the Mamanuca Islands and is the only resort on the 225-acre privately owned island. Mt Vomo rises at one end, providing expansive views over Vomo and the Pacific Ocean. Lush native plantings, coconut and mango groves create a natural wonder.
Vomo is edged with soft white sand and clear aqua waters. The beach is non-tidal allowing use of the beach throughout the day. Coral reefs surround the island and for snorkelling enthusiasts offer some of the best snorkelling in Fiji from the beach or on the daily snorkelling excursion.
Vomo has a range of accommodation options. Hillside Villas provide magical views over the island and face west towards Vomo Lailai, and Beachfront Villas are nestled between coconut palms with the beach only steps away. The Residence offers a unique accommodation experience, with three pavilions sleeping up to eight guests across 1-acre of absolute beachfront. Guests reside in discreet luxury with high quality furnishings and technology, indoor and outdoor dining options, private outdoor showers, private pool and 24-hour butler service. The Royal sleeps up to six guests and boasts expansive deck areas, and private pool.
Off the western tip of Vomo is Vomo Lailai, a true deserted island. Guests will experience true isolation, all the while with Vomo Island in sight and two-way radio contact. Surrounding reefs offer some of the best snorkelling with guests able to snorkel from the beach. Vomo Lailai can be reserved for the day and enhanced with a Champagne picnic.
The Vomo experience is heightened by superb dining options, overseen by Vomo’s on-island award-winning chef. The Reef Restaurant features an la carte menu, changing daily, which focuses on delivering innovative dining options, whilst highlighting the very best produce, seafood and meats both internationally sourced and locally gown, some from Vomo’s own vegetable garden. At the Vudu and Rocks bars, guests can relax during the day or night and watch the best sunset in Fiji.
To preserve the tranquillity of Vomo, an extensive range of non-motorised water sports are offered including snorkelling, glass bottom kayaking, stand-up paddleboards, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. On-land activities are in abundance, with a spa, floodlit tennis court, a 9-hole par 3 golf course, hiking and jogging trails and croquet. Greater adventures such as deep-sea fishing, scenic helicopter rides and diving can be arranged. The Vomo Turtle Protection Programme rears Hawksbill turtles after they have hatched on the island until the turtles reach an age where they can protect themselves from natural predators. Guests of all ages can learn and help care for the turtles from their keepers.
