Day 1. Arrive Launceston, BeaconsfieldTransfer to your hotel in Launceston, then drive through farmland and vineyards following the Tamar River. Like a Local – visit the gold mining town of Beaconsfield and take a guided tour of the Mine & Heritage Centre. A Taste of Australia – enjoy canapés and a Welcome Drink as you wander through the gallery at the Design Centre of Tasmania, followed by a Welcome Dinner. Stay: Launceston, Best Western Plus. D
Day 2. Bridestowe Lavender Farm, East Coast Natureworld, Freycinet National Park, BichenoExplore the scenic wine-producing area of northern Tasmania today. Like a Local - at Bridestowe Lavender Farm, enjoy a guided tour of the distillery and sample unique lavender-inspired fare. Traverse Weldborough Pass and stop at East Coast Natureworld to meet a Tasmanian Devil and other native Australian animals. Like a Local - travel into Freycinet National Park where you’ll enjoy a guided walk along Richardsons Beach with a local flora and fauna expert. Later, arrive in Bicheno.

Day 3. Ross, Richmond, Eaglehawk Neck, Port ArthurToday you’ll explore some of Tasmania’s quaint inland villages blessed with fine architecture and bridges. Discover Campbell Town and Ross, before continuing south to Richmond, home to the famous Richmond Bridge. Take in the peninsula of Eaglehawk Neck, then continue to Port Arthur.

Day 4. Port Arthur Historic Site, HobartLike a Local – visit Port Arthur, once Australia’s most notorious convict prison. Later, join a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. A Taste of Australia – dine overlooking the waterfront at Customs House Restaurant. B, D
Day 5. Hobart, Salamanca MarketSet off on a guided tour, taking you to Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and the harbour area. Later, visit Salamanca Market or perhaps join an optional full-day Bruny Island adventure (own expense). B
Day 6. Hobart, Mt Field National Park, Lake St Clair, Strahan6 Day (TX6AA) guests conclude their tour in Hobart. Explore Russell Falls, the jewel in the crown of Mt Field National Park, then continue to the pristine World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Travel to the town of Strahan where tonight, you’ll enjoy a buffet dinner at View 42º Restaurant & Bar.

Day 7. Strahan, Gordon River Cruise, Cradle MountainCruise Macquarie Harbour and enter the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Continue to Sarah Island, once Tasmania’s oldest convict settlement. Return to Strahan, bound for Cradle Mountain. Special Stay – unwind at Cradle Mountain Hotel.

Day 8. Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, Sheffield, Stanley and The Nut, SmithtonVisit Waldheim Chalet and Dove Lake. Travel via Sheffield to Stanley, then arrive in Smithton. Special Stay – relax at the Tall Timbers Hotel. A Taste of Australia – enjoy a dinner showcasing local produce.
