Heron Island offers many activities such as guided island, reef and ecology walks, semi-submersible cruises and private beach picnics. There is an amazing array of bird and other animal life that can be discovered throughout the year, including the delightful Green and Loggerhead Turtles which can be seen over the Australian summer months. Heron is also famous for its world renowned scuba diving and snorkeling where you can experience some of Australia’s best snorkeling right off the beach or explore over 20 dive sites which are only a short boat ride from the resort.
During Australian school holidays, you can sign the kids up for the Heron Junior Rangers (7-12yrs), where they’ll get up close and personal with a wonderful variety of marine creatures, and explore the fascinating coral cay. At certain times of the year, turtle nesting and hatching take precedent over all other island activities.
